Managing Director- e-Bus Asia Pacific Region

Bharat Salhotra has been elevated as Managing Director-e Bus, Asia Pacific Region after having completed a five year highly productive stint as Managing Director, Alstom India & South Asia. Under his leadership, Alstom India grew its order book several times over and witnessed a ten-fold increase in terms of head count. As the head of Alstom India, he successfully established Alstom Transport as a leading player not only in rail based Urban Transport solutions but also Mainline Railways. Projects won include the Electric Locomotive contract for manufacturing 800 high horse power locomotives at Madhepura, Bihar and the signaling & electrification Contract for the 343 km. World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. During his tenure, Alstom also delivered three Rolling Stock Projects for Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow with Kochi Metro being the “Make in India” train.

His current role entails supporting Cluster Managing Directors in expanding Alstom footprint in Greenfield markets in APAC Region and also leading the design, development and commercial launch of an Electric Bus for India and the region.

Prior to joining Alstom, he served in the Civil Services for over two decades in different capacities, the last one being the Director Finance at the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL). Mr. Salhotra is a Sloan Fellow with an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management. He has a number of publications to his credit, including a land mark Case Study on India’s first PPP initiative in the Port Sector.
