Program Manager, International Cooperation, Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (Vinnova)

Dr. Fridén has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Stockholm University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Lund University. This was followed by post-doctoral research at University of California, Los Angeles.

He worked as Research Scientist and Group Leader in a pharmaceutical company between 1993-1998. From 1998 he has served as programme manager in Biotechnology at the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (Vinnova), as well as in its predecessor NUTEK. During 2003-2005, he was stationed as Attaché at the Science & Technology Office, Embassy of Sweden to Japan. Joining the International Collaboration Division at Vinnova in 2007, he has a focus on bilateral research and innovation cooperation, mainly towards Asia, and on international cooperation policy issues.
